B.O.N.D. Small Business Group is a promotional, networking, and developmental membership business based in Pontotoc, MS for local entrepreneurs to come together, fellowship, and give back to the community they serve. B.O.N.D. was created due to the need of cost effective advertising, promotion, and resources for small business and organization owners. B.O.N.D. Small Business Group has evolved into a business, hub, and platform for professionals in Northeast Mississippi and even out of state. What We Do

Our mission is to empower, educate, and equip local business people to thrive and positively impact the communities around them as well as encouraging growth and unity in the small business marketplace.

What We Do

We host events that are aimed to help small business owners network, gain support, and learn. We also develop programs that are family-friendly and help the community as a whole, while showing what our local businesses have to offer, as well as offering exclusive benefits, opportunities, and events to members. 

Meet The Team

Jessica Starks

CEO

Jessica Starks is the CEO and founder of J.D. Scribes, a creative marketing and design company for small business, as well as the CEO of B.O.N.D. Small Business Group. Jessica is passionate about helping those in the community around her. The Itawamba Community College alumna is a member of the Pontotoc Writer’s Group, the Pontotoc County Friends of the Library, The Women-Owned Business Club, and The Pontotoc Community Theater. Jessica is also a recurring guest on the radio show, Right Thinking with Steve Coplon. Mud & Magnolias Magazine named her one of the most influential women in Northeast Mississippi in 2017 and she was named one of the Top 50 Black Business Women in Mississippi in 2020.

Myra Starks

Business Relations Chair

Myra is a renaissance woman, which is why she is such a valuable asset to the B.O.N.D. team. The wife, mother, and grandmother loves learning new things and serving others. She is a members of the Pontotoc Friends of the Library, Pontotoc Writer’s Group, and an alumna of Itawamba Community College. The Wisconsin native worked in education for 20 years but is now the Executive Assistant for J.D. Scribes and the B.O.N.D. Group.

Miranda Starks

Business Relations

Miranda has always had a passion for entrepreneurship and networking, so she joined forces with her sister Jessica to create the B.O.N.D. Group. She is currently a Paparazzi Independent Consultant, owner of Miranda’s Sweet and Chic Boutique. She is also currently an Administrative Assistant in the Area Agency on Agency Divison at Three Rivers Planning and Development District. She is an alumna of Itawamba Community College and Mississippi University for Women.

Gabrielle Starks

Hospitality Chair

Alan D. Wolfelt once said, “Food is symbolic of love when words are inadequate ” This describes Gabrielle and her passion for cooking perfectly. She has an expansive pallet and is very knowledgeable in food preparation and safety. She is Serv-Safe certified and is currently employed as a cook at Pontotoc Health and Rehab, where the patients love her creative dishes.

Larissa Starks

Hospitality

Larissa has always loved art and photography. She is a gifted photographer and artist. She was nominated for Best of Pontotoc 2018 in the Photography category. She is the owner of Photography by Larissa. She is also a Personal Care Assistant with Oxford Health Care. She is an alumna of Itawamba Community College and Colorado Technical University.

Wendell Frison

Outreach chair

Wendell has been a wonderful asset to the B.O.N.D. Group. Wendell has been in the transportation industry for a little over 20 years, and can proudly say that he has never had an accident in his entire career in the field. Wendell is also a graduate of Itawamba Community College and is certified in Vehicle Maintenance Management & Inspection. He was named 2017 Mississippi Action for Progress, Inc. Region 10 Staff of the Year & 2017 Mississippi Action for Progress, Inc. Staff of the Year. He was also nominated for Best of Pontotoc 2018 as Best Bus Driver.

Nick Boone

Outreach

Nick Boone is the Director and Founder of Millennial Outreach Foundation, a nonprofit that strives to motivate and inspire young people to pursue their dreams. The Pontotoc, MS native is also the producer of the WTVA podcast, Fever and Fits, and works in the advertising and marketing division at the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal. Nick is also currently working on his first book, which is slated for release next year. The father and businessman’s motto in life is, “You don’t have to live the life that was given to you, you can create your own!”
